Hi I'm Susan...
Author, yoga instructor, singer, dancer, producer, director, and mom. Or as my grandma used to say, “a little bit of everything and a whole lotta nothin”. I live a life in the “Arts” both performing and healing, but everything I do bridges back to one main essence. . .living my spark. Through my personal experiences and stories, I hope to inspire and stoke the fire that lives in you, while holding a space for exploration.
If you are a struggling creative, then you've come to the right place. My belief is no matter what your art form, or vision, you don't have to make it your hobby in order to survive. Use this website to "plug-in". Whether you need support on ways to use your craft as a platform, need AromaFlow yoga ideas, stay updated with classes and events, or learn about out-of-the-box living alternatives. My desire is to hold a space for you to light your spark and put a dance in your step!

From the Stage to the Mat
After seeing the show Pippin on Broadway when I was 12 years old, it sparked a fire in me that I vowed to see through: I was going to dance on Broadway. With a wing and a prayer, and a whole lot of hustle, I landed my first Broadway show when I was 25. I sang & danced my way through 10 years of 8 shows a week in the Broadway shows CATS, A Chorus Line, Evita, Joseph The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Late Nite Comic until it all came to a screeching halt at age 35. That’s when motherhood crept up from behind and flipped the bird to my career (ticking clocks will do that). No doubt, getting married and having a child was one of the best things that happened to me, but it took me out of the driver’s seat, and landed me in the co-pilot position, not the most comfortable place for an alpha girl. So you can imagine life got a little messy as I tried to navigate my way out of a self focused successful career to full time domesticity. I spent the better part of my 40’s re-inventing myself as a SUV driving, homeschooling, laundry piling, 24/7 exhausted mom. Not the most fulfilling years, but definitely the most in personal growth. Artistic expression was a vital lifeline for me and with the exception of the Christmas Caroling Company my husband I ran seasonally, it wasn’t anywhere to be found, so I had to improvise.
That's when yoga came to my rescue and swept me off my feet. I had, the classic “out of body” experience the first time I stepped onto a yoga mat. Sound dramatic?...it was. Seriously, I felt in that one moment what took me a lifetime to establish as a dancer. Needless to say Yoga and I began our unspoken love affair. There was only one thing to do...become an instructor.
In The Flow
It wasn’t until I was introduced to essential oils at a much needed acupuncture session when a new career path showed itself to me. An oil called Joy to be exact. You heard right, Joy oil (applied to my heart) was going to make me feel...um...joyful. Skepticism aside, my experience with that oil had me running home to find out what just happened to me, and why. After a whole lot of research, and experimentation a new world of self care opened up to me and my family, and there I was, turning bottles of shampoo and cleaners over looking at the ingredients, eating organic, doing cleanses, trashing the toxic products in my home and living an oily life. Things were changing rapidly as I rode the oily wave, and life as I knew it was in the memory books.
It was only a matter of time that the oils found their way into my yoga practice and classes. I had no idea that the path I was on would lead me to an organization of 3000 members, authoring an AromaFlow Yoga book, heading up teacher trainings, and supporting a team of powerful Luminaries.
From Broadway to Broad Spectrum, with a little bit of hustle, an open heart, and a surrender to flow, I'm now accessing an unlimited potential of life and I'm super psyched to take the ride with you.
